It’s been a little over a week since the Rio Olympics came to a close, and what a game they were! We saw some amazing athletes achieve some incredible feats, and we also saw some not-so-amazing athletes get caught up in some not-so-incredible scandals. Lochte described the incident in detail to NBC’s Billy Bush, saying that the robbers had pointed a gun at his head and demanded money from him.
The story quickly made headlines around the world, and as more details emerged, it became clear that there were some inconsistencies in the swimmers’ accounts. CCTV footage showed the swimmers returning to the Olympic Village in the early morning hours, and they appeared to be in good spirits.
